Day 01 – Arrival at King Shaka International Airport

Day 02 – Abingdon Wine Estate & Howick Falls

Located in the picturesque KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, a unique pioneering estate which has positioned itself as a serious single vineyard boutique wine producer in KZN. Abingdon was the first farm to produce a certified estate wine from KZN grapes with their maiden vintage in 2007. Situated at 1140m above sea level, the Estate has 4ha under vine and produces certified single vineyard Estate wines from 100% KZN grapes. Abingdon is a family run estate with father & daughter team, Ian and Laurie Smorthwaite, taking a hands on approach to all aspects of viticulture and wine making. The wines are made by hand, with minimal intervention in a traditional boutique manner.

Howick Falls in KwaZulu-Natal province is a scenic point from which to explore the delights of Howick before embarking on a leisurely drive through the rolling countryside of the Midlands Meander with its home-baked outlets, crafters, pubs, second-hand stores, carpet weavers, leather works and so much more.

Just 24km from Pietermaritzburg in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, Howick Falls drops in spectacular fashion to a turbulent pool that has long been believed to have mystical powers. The Midlands Meander, which stretches from Pietermaritzburg to the Drakensberg Mountains, is a prime tourist attraction with its abundant forests, hills, rivers, lakes, dams and waterfalls, plus hundreds of arts and craft outlets, restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and coffee shops that are well worth browsing through Durban, also known as eThekwini, is a city rich in history and culture. Day 05 – Phezulu Safari & Valley of 1000 Hills

PheZulu Safari Park is a fascinating attraction in Botha’s Hill, in the Valley of 1000 Hills, KwaZulu-Natal. Visitors can expect a range of activities from guided tours of the snake and crocodile parks, to traditional Zulu experiences.

Enjoy a guided tour of PheZulu to learn about the crocodiles and snakes that reside here, meet Ramesis our 90 year old Nile crocodile, and have a hands on experience with Cleo, the 42kg Burmese python. Snakes you can expect to see in the snake park include the African Rock Python, Green and Black Mamba, Egyptian, Forest, and Spitting Cobra, Vine Snake, Puff Adder, Rinkhals, Boomslang, Night Adder, Southern Brown Egg Eater, Olive House Snake, Burmese Python and more.
